Robert D. Baker obtained his BA at Harvard University, MD at Temple University School of Medicine, PhD at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Baker completed his residency in Pediatrics at Buffalo Children's Hospital and his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Combined Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Children's Hospital of Boston. Dr. Baker has worked in Africa and established two new programs in Gastroenterology and Nutrition, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and the Medical University of South Carolina before coming to Buffalo. Dr. Baker has numerous publication in peer reviewed journals, chapters, and reviews. He has edited three medical textbooks. Dr. Baker is nationally recognized as a leader currently serving on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Nutrition. Dr. Baker is listed as a Best Doctor continuously since 1996.
Dr. Baker sees patients, performs procedures, directs research, and serves as the Medical Director of the Variety 4 Procedure Area. Robert Baker is boarded in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology, renewed, 2002.
Susan S. Baker obtained her BS at the University of Pittsburgh, MD at Temple University School of Medicine, and PhD at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Baker completed her residency in Pediatrics at Buffalo Children's Hospital and her fellowship in gastroenterology at the Combined Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Children's Hospital of Boston. Dr. Baker is recognized as a leader in the field, having served as the Chairperson of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Committee on Nutrition, the Chairperson of the American Board of Pediatrics, subboard of Gastroenterology and numerous other national and international advisory groups including the FDA representative to the CODEX expert committee on infant formula. Currently Dr. Baker serves on the USDA Council for the Supplemental Food Program, appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture. Dr. Baker sees patients, performs procedures, directs research, and serves as the Laboratory Director for the Gastroenterology Laboratory at Children's Hospital of Buffalo.

Pearay L. Ogra received his MB, BS from the Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India and served as a resident in Medicine and Pediatrics at the Government Medical College, Srinagar, Kashmir. He worked as a House Office in Medicine and Pediatrics in Binghamton NY and at the University of Chicago school of medicine and before completing a residency in Pediatrics at New York University, Bellevue Medical Center NY. Dr. Ogra completed a fellowship in Virology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Ogra has worked at the Children's Hospital since 1966 where he established a world-renowned center for the study of the immunology of the gastrointestinal tract and the immunologic function of human milk. Dr. Ogra is world renowned for his work in Immunology and has won many national and international awards. His research has changed the care that pediatricians provide to children. Dr. Ogra has published several hundred papers, 16 books, and has trained many of the top researchers in Immunology in the world. Dr. Ogra oversees the research agenda of the DDNC and provides mentorship for young investigators.
Humaira Hashmi received her medical degree from Punjab Medical College Faisalabad,Pakistan with honors in anatomy and did her residency in Pediatrics in Cooper Hospital in South Jersey.She joined the Pediatric Gatroenterology fellowship program in July 2005. Her interest is Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Liver disease.
Wael N. Sayej received his BS in Biology and Mathematics at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY in May 1996. Received his M.D. degree from Fatima College of Medicine, Valenzuela City, Phillippines in November 2000. He pursued some research at New Jersey Medical School in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics for approximately a year. He joined the pediatrics residency program at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. Completed residency in June 2006 and joined the Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition fSellowship program at WCHOB in July 2006. His interests in GI include mucosal immunology in inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, and a variety of liver diseases.
